Mostly stuff I got from the Southern Records sale.Earth - Angels Of Darkness, Demons Of Light I 2LP
I don’t have enough Earth, and I’ve been meaning to get this so I was pretty happy to see it for £14. Been really getting into them lately. Nice package… Heavyweight vinyl and a cool etching on the D side, black vinyl, but I guess all the coloured versions will have sold out now. It’s a really great album. Hoping to pick up the new one at the show next month (same title but replace the ‘I’ with ‘II’).
Boris - Absolutego 2LP
My least favourite Boris album. I don’t know why but every release of this has different artwork… There’s the Japanese CD, the reissue CD Southern Lord put out, and now this, which is the least attractive of the bunch. I don’t know why they decided to change the artwork again but there ya go. Anyway… The Amplifier Worship LP which Southern Lord put out was pretty nice lookin’, and they did them both at the same time, so I thought I may as well pick this up while it’s cheaper than usual. I’m hoping it’ll grow on me.
Eagles Of Death Metal - Heart On LP + 7”
Another one I’ve meant to get for a while… It’s easily their best album if you ask me, and the vinyl version is put out by Ipecac Records, which is pretty cool because I collect Ipecac records stuff and Josh Homme stuff. Fun fact: if you open the gatefold you’re rewarded with a picture of a bum. Yeah, and it has a red 7” with it too. That’s what’s next to it. I haven’t heard the tracks on that yet. So yeah. I will at some point, and that’ll be fun.
Dreamend - And The Tears Washed Me Wave After Cowardly Wave CD
Oh look a free poster! I got a valentine too (which even arrived on actual Valentine’s day!). So that’s a pretty good summary of my life… I only get valentines from record labels! Anyway, this is a continuation of So I Ate Myself, Bite By Bite, which was the last Dreamend album, which I also enjoyed. Kinda psychedelic folky stuff about killing someone.
